Ypso-Facto will attend the 9th edition of the France Bioproduction Congress which will take place on 19th & 20th March 2025 at the International Congress Center in Tours.
From 2020, Polepharma and Medicen Paris Region join forces to co-organize the annual France Bioproduction Congress in order to bring together and federate all the players serving the sector.
In its 8th edition in 2024, the event successfully brought together 650 participants from the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry. This year, for the 9th edition decision-makers and contributors in pharmaceutical bioproduction from France and Europe will reconvene for a two-day event featuring conferences, roundtable discussions, and practical workshops.
Ypso-Facto will be hosting a workshop on:
Prediction of the impact of Critical Process Parameters on Critical Quality Attributes by statistical vs mechanistic models. Application to a viral protein purified by ion exchange chromatography.
Speakers: Lucrèce Nicoud (Ypso-Facto) & Eric Forma (Sanofi)
Abstract :
Accurately predicting the impact of Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) on Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) is key to comply with regulatory requirements, design a consistent process, achieve process understanding and perform process optimization. It is common practice to link CPPs to CQAs via statistical relations identified with Design of Experiments. However, this approach suffers from several weaknesses: numerous experiments are required, non-physical trends of CPPs vs CQAs may be derived, no predictive capability outside of the region tested experimentally. Mechanistic models based on physico-chemical phenomena offer a strong alternative, enabling an increased predictive capability with significantly less experiments, allowing more complex optimization and supporting scale-up. In this workshop, we will present a study performed in collaboration between Sanofi and Ypso-Facto, where both the statistical and mechanistic approaches were applied and compared on a concrete example dealing with the purification of a viral protein by ion exchange chromatography.
