Bioprocess Engineer (m/f)

About the Role:

We are looking for passionate and motivated scientific experts to join our R&D team as Bioprocess Simulation Specialists. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in downstream (chromatography, UF/DF) and/or upstream processes (cell culture, bacterial culture, adherent cells) to solve complex bioprocessing challenges using our simulation software. To thrive at YpsoFacto, you need to be scientifically curious, highly motivated, and equipped with a problem-solving mindset. Knowledge of software engineering and high-performance computing is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and program physico-chemical models for bioprocesses.
  • Implement methods for solving ODEs and numerical optimization.
  • Collaborate with clients on technical studies to improve process yield, reduce solvent consumption, and ensure secure scale-up using our simulation tools.
  • Contribute to the development of a Proxima module for bioreactor simulations.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during client interactions.
  • Consolidate and present scientific results, including writing articles and delivering presentations at international conferences.

Your Profile :

  • PhD in (Bio)chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in mechanistic modeling of bioprocesses.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming, with experience in high-performance computing languages (Fortran, C++, Rust) and/or mainstream languages (C#, Python, etc.).
  • Ability to communicate and work in a multidisciplinary team, including software developers, testers, chemists, and engineers.
  • Strong scientific rigor and methodical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed reports on project progress.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
  • A proactive and results-oriented mindset.
