Software tester (m/f)

Importance of the role:

Are you a seasoned software tester with a passion for testing, development, and design? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a knack for identifying risks and errors in software? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

We are looking for a results-driven software tester to be responsible for designing and running tests on software usability. As a participant in the software development process, you will assist in the development of test plan and evaluate the quality of software components. Your main challenge will be to detect major software flaws (e.g. bugs, errors, failures, breakdowns, risks) in order to fix them and ensure the performance of the developed software.

This position will report to the head of Customer Success team and is based in Nancy, France. Remote working only available to a minor extent.

About the Customer Success team:

As a member of the Customer Success team, you will be part of a dynamic team with an increasing and transversal scope within the company. The Customer Success team  ensuring our customers the best possible experience using our software. This implies having strong and continuous interactions with other team members of the firm. The customer’s satisfaction being a continuous improvement process, mid-term evolutions of the current position are possible.

Software Tester responsibilities:

  • Document software testing results.
  • Executing tests on software usability
  • Participate in non-regression tests
  • Evaluate test protocols to follow software developments
  • Propose new test protocols to optimize software coverage
  • Communicate with developers to help them effectively target critical areas of code
  • Integrate into the pace of the sprints led by the software development team
  • Working in an Agile environment

Key requirements:

  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to solve problems
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of various open-source testing tools
  • Strong ability to recognize risks and errors in software
  • Sharp analytical skills with an attitude to “Test to Break”
  • You are a self-starter with initiative and aptitude to quickly learn and put new skills to use
  • Willingness to learn and suggest process improvements
  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • You have ideally previous experience in software testing.
Scientific Developer (m/f)

Your missions & responsibilities

  • Implementation of physico-chemical models developed internally. Either in new code or in existing code;
  • Implementation or modification of methods for solving equations and/or numerical optimization;
  • Creation of automated tests;
  • Creation of links between calculation codes and graphical interfaces (via SQL, XML, etc.);
  • Refactoring, and standardization of codes;
  • Benchmark and comparisons of software solutions;

Your profile

  • Master’s or PhD degree in science (autodidact accepted);
  • Good knowledge of Fortran (2003 and greater). You have to know another OOP language (C#, C++, Java, etc…);
  • Good knowledge of Git or equivalent;
  • Ability to work and communicate in an environment composed of heterogeneous profiles (software developers, testers, chemists, process engineers, etc…);
  • Scientific rigor and method essential for problem solving. Ability to produce clear reports on the progress of a project;
  • Proactive mindset;

English speaking is a plus and the position based in Nancy, France and / or Luxembourg or remote.

Software Developer (m/f)

  • Develop software solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Create, organize and implement the source code for new applications.
  • Evaluate existing applications to constantly improve the code.

Your profile

Batchelor/Master’s degree in informatic or professional experiences in an area of software engineering. You have ideally a background as an engineer software developer or software architect.

Previous experience in application and software development is required.

English speaking is a plus and the position based in Nancy, France.

Bioprocess Engineer (m/f)

As part of the growth of our activities, YPSO-FACTO is looking for several Bioprocess Engineers to carry out missions of various kinds.

The main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Carry out technical studies conducted for our clients in the field of bioprocesses. The objectives are typically to increase the yield of a process, to reduce the consumption of raw materials, to achieve scale-up, etc. These studies concern both upstream (cell culture, bacterial culture, adherent cells, etc.) and downstream (clarification, chromatography, UF/DF, etc.)
  • Promote the use of our Proxima software suite to carry out technical studies (process diagrams, technical and economic evaluation, simulation of chromatography processes, etc.)
  • Participate in the development of a Proxima module for the simulation of bioreactors
  • Provide technical support to our sales team.
  • Consolidate and present scientific results (writing articles, presentation at international conferences)

The positions are based in France and/or in Luxembourg. Visits to our clients' and partners' sites are expected, mainly in Europe and the USA.

About you:

  • Engineering degree or PhD in bioprocessing, and a first experience in industry (minimum 2 years)
  • Strong interest in process design and development software
  • Excellent communication skills – Fluent English mandatory
  • Working in a collaborative cross-functional team environment
  • Organised and able to present results in a clear and concise manner
  • Self-motivated, proactive approach with commitment to meet deadlines
